The union actively collaborates with various trade unions to build and maintain sustainable relationships that focus on the collective pursuit and protection of workers' rights. This cooperation is vital for strengthening the voice of workers in various sectors and ensuring that their interests are adequately represented.
To amplify their efforts, UG partners with both local and international unions that share common goals and interests. These partnerships help create a broader platform for advocacy and support. Some of the prominent international unions in this collaborative effort include the Police and Prisons Civil Rights Union (POPCRU), which focuses on the rights and welfare of members in the law enforcement and correctional sectors; the Botswana Public Employee’s Union (BOPEU), which advocates for workers in Botswana and the West African Federation of Trade Unions (WAFTU), which represents the interests of workers across multiple West African countries; and Public Services International (PSI), an international federation that champions the rights of public service workers worldwide.
As unions, we bring diverse perspectives and resources to the table, enhancing the collective strength of the Labour movement. We tackle issues such as labor rights violations, wage disparities, and unsafe working conditions more effectively. This cooperative approach not only benefits the workers represented by these unions but also enhances the overall landscape of labor relations, fostering a more equitable and just environment for all workers
