Bursaries
The Union designed an education support policy to usher in an incentive framework earlier in 2017 upon the realisation that there was an increased demand among citizenry especially public servants for professional development support for UG members country wide to enable them advance their professional development carriers.
This Policy initiative aimed at meeting aspirational needs of UG members by providing support towards their academic and professional endeavours, through a 50% additional provision towards the fees.
Education Loan facility
The Union through the Department of Professional Affairs over a period of four years came to a realization that there was an overwhelming increase in the demand for members’ education and academic advancement. This resulted into a suffocation for the Union envelop. Given the said scenario, Secretariat resolved to discontinue this growing bursary bill, thereby giving birth to the introduction a product known as educational loan facility.
Education Humper
The Union has continued to empower its members in the area of Education so that those advancing their academic and or professional carriers can receive an education Humper meant for sundry expenses such as books, pens, toiletries.
Establishment of Higher Leaning Institution (SSNAS)
In order to enhance the support to desirous members in advancing their academic endeavors especially in the health sector, the Union has prepared ground to launch the Supreme School of Nursing and Applied Sciences (SSNAS).
The initiative of the (SSNAS) is targeted at addressing the growing demand for highly skilled medical practitioners, furthermore, to respond to advance medical research and innovation. This institution will focus on providing comprehensive, cutting-edge medical education, fostering a culture of research, and serving the healthcare needs of the community.
The vision of the school is to be a leading center of excellence in medical education, research, healthcare delivery, and contributing significantly to the improvement of global health. Lastly, the mission is to educate and train competent, compassionate, and ethical medical professionals, conduct impactful research, and provide high-quality healthcare services to the community. It is expected to be fully established in the next two years.
